Lillibridge wins BOMA award for excellence in property management
DEDICATED TEAM EARNS TOBY RECOGNITION FOR SETON NORTHWEST HEALTH PLAZA
CHICAGO and AUSTIN, Texas, March 26, 2008 – Chicago-based Lillibridge has received “The Office Building of the Year” (TOBY) Award from the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) for one of its medical office buildings in Austin, Texas.
On March 20, Seton Northwest Health Plaza was named the winner of the 2008 BOMA award for the best medical office building (MOB) in the city of Austin. The building will now be entered into the competition for the BOMA Southwest Regional Conference Award, which will be announced in New Orleans in April.
“A staff of six dedicated team members worked very hard for more than a year to prepare for this TOBY application,” says Becky Dickerson, General Manager, Lillibridge. “We all pitched in to improve the appearance of the building, both on the inside and outside. The administrative group wrote narratives for the competition on a number of subjects, including energy management and emergency preparedness. I’m proud of the way everyone worked together as a team to help win this award.”
Seton Northwest Health Plaza is a 5-story, 110,000 square foot medical facility that opened in 1988. Located at 11111 Research Boulevard, the building features skylights and an open atrium which extends over the full height of the building. The facility is connected to Seton Northwest Hospital by two enclosed corridors, providing convenient access for patients and physicians. An exposed glass wall in each passenger elevator provides visitors with an impressive view of the atrium.
Lillibridge has had a very good working relationship with the Seton Family of Hospitals since acquiring a portfolio of medical office buildings from them in 2004. The healthcare real estate firm is currently developing a new MOB for them called the Seton Williamson Medical Plaza I, which Lillibridge will own and manage.
“In 2007 Becky Dickerson and her team won a BOMA award for our Medical Park Tower Building,” says Lillibridge Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Todd W. Lillibridge. “Once again this year, they have showed their dedication to our tenants and our properties by winning an award that is very highly regarded in the healthcare real estate industry.”
The TOBY Award was created in 1985 and is the most prestigious and comprehensive evaluation in the commercial real estate profession. Described as the “Academy Award” for office buildings, the TOBY Award recognizes quality in office buildings and excellence in office building management. All facets of a building’s operations are thoroughly evaluated during the judging process including tenant relations, community impact and employee programs. Detailed property inspections, floor plans, building standards and photographs are also judged as part of the competition.
