Lillibridge breaks ground for Healthplex at Florida Hospital

GOOD WORKING RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN TWO COMPANIES CONTINUES WITH UPCOMING DEVELOPMENT PROJECT IN KISSIMMEE, FLA.

CHICAGO and KISSIMMEE, Fla., Sept. 26, 2007 – Expanded medical services will be available to residents of Kissimmee in a new medical office building (MOB) adjacent to Florida Hospital Kissimmee, scheduled to open in the fall of 2008. Chicago-based Lillibridge, one of the nation’s largest private healthcare real estate firms, held a ground breaking ceremony for The HealthPlex at Florida Hospital, a three-story, 85,000 square foot building at 2450 North Orange Blossom Trail in Kissimmee.

“We’re excited to start the construction on this new medical office and outpatient services facility that will greatly enhance the healthcare in this community,” says Bill Haupt, CEO of Florida Hospital Kissimmee. “We selected Lillibridge as our developer for their experience and excellent reputation in healthcare real estate.”

More medical office space was needed on the Kissimmee campus to satisfy increasing healthcare demands in this growing area of the state. Major tenants in the building include an ambulatory surgery center, outpatient imaging center, pulmonary, orthopedic and OB-GYN groups. The building will feature a two-story atrium at the main entrance, two covered walkways to the hospital and surface parking. The outpatient imaging center will have a separate entrance, allowing direct access for patients.

Lillibridge has partnered with Florida Hospital many times in the past, including a development project in Celebration, Fla.  The two companies are also working on many other MOB projects, including those in East Orlando and Sebring.

“It’s great to do business with an industry leader like Florida Hospital and we’re glad that they are happy with the projects we’ve collaborated on during the past three years,” says Lillibridge Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Todd Lillibridge. “It is our goal to continue our excellent working relationship.”

Florida Hospital Kissimmee is a full-service community hospital. To better serve the rapidly growing population, Florida Hospital Kissimmee recently performed a multi-million dollar upgrade to the surgical and ICU departments as well as renovating patient rooms. By the end of 2007, the number of beds in the hospital will increase from 83 to 100. Once The HealthPlex at Florida Hospital is completed, there are plans to build a new patient tower that mirrors the look of the new MOB.

The HealthPlex at Florida Hospital is approximately 80 percent leased. Physicians on the Florida Hospital medical staff are encouraged to contact Kerry McCormick at Lillibridge 972-248-9100, extension 4351, or kerry.mccormick@lillibridge.com for information on leasing opportunities.
